In 1959 he started working at radio station KJOE as a disc jockey. Besides, Carlin and Jack Burns both formed a comedy team when they were working in radio station named KXOL in Fort Worth Texas. In 1960 Carlin started acting on television in variety of shows in different kind of roles such as "The Indian Sergeant", "Stupid disc jockeys", "Al Sleet", "The Hippie-Dippie Weatherman" and so on. In the beginning of 1970 Carlin made sudden changes both in his outfit and his appearance, for example- he started wearing faded jeans, sporting clothes, keeping long hair and bear. At last Carlin attended in the United States Air Force when he was getting too old. After joining Air Force he was trained as a radar technician. Therefore, Carlin won five Grammy Awards for his comedy albums and also won lifetime achievement award at the 15th American comedy award in 2001. He got married two times with Brenda Hosbrook and Sally Wade and he has only one child named Kelly.
